NEW: fast, multicurrency payments with Revolut
If you’re organising a medical transport, it goes without saying that you want everything to be as smooth and straightforward as possible – especially when it comes to the bank transfer.
That’s why EMS Air Ambulance & Medical Repatriation has just launched a new account with online banking giant Revolut. It’s an easy-to-use service that offers secure, round-the-clock payments from multiple currencies – and it’s very fast. Here’s how it works.
Transfer funds quickly
Bank transfers are important in the repatriation industry because they act as the green light for activating the transport, so it’s crucial that the process is robust and fast. Revolut gives you multiple payment options with a range of different transfer systems, including the UK’s Faster Payments (which can go through almost immediately) and CHAPS (often the same day). On accepting a quote, you’ll receive an invoice from our UK HQ with our Revolut details; from there, it’s quick and easy to make the payment.
Make instant payments
If you live in the SEPA region – which includes the 28 EU member countries, plus some non-EU members like the UK, Switzerland and Norway – you should be able to make your payment in euros by instant SEPA. This type of transfer is extremely fast: funds typically transfer in seconds. Many of the major European and international banks now accept instant SEPA payments. For the full list, click here.
Choose your own currency
Although many customers choose to pay in euros or US dollars, you don’t have to. With Revolut, we can accept transfers in up to 30 different currencies, depending on your method of payment. That means you can pay in pounds, dirhams or Australian dollars, if you prefer. Other currency options include BGN, CAD, CHF, CZK, HKD, HUF, ISK, JPY, NOK, NZD, PLN, QAR, SAR, SGD, THB, TRY and ZAR.
Use your local US bank
One of the most common ways to send money in the USA is by Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfer. But because ACH payments are processed in batches, they aren’t instantaneous – they take an average of 1-3 business days to complete. Revolut provides a US account option for American customers, which means you can transfer dollars directly from your local US bank, much more quickly.
Avoid out-of-hours delays
Repatriations sometimes get held up for the simple reason that banks aren’t able to process payments out of hours. That’s not an issue for Revolut, since we have 24/7 backup from their worldwide business team to help with transfers and other problems that might delay the process. That means your funds won’t get stuck in the system overnight, at weekends or on bank holidays.
