A new Global HQ in London – and offices in 4 time zones

EMS Air Ambulance & Medical Repatriation has always been a proudly international company. We designed our medical repatriation service to be truly global – to take patients from anywhere in the world to anywhere else, as quickly, securely and comfortably as possible.

That’s why we’re pleased to announce the launch of a new European office in London, UK, the latest addition to our network of international hubs. In fact it’s more than an office. It’s the official headquarters for EMS Air Ambulance & Medical Repatriation’s worldwide operations, meaning we now have a presence in five major cities across four time zones.

GMT+0: Worldwide HQ, London

London is a great place to be located, because it’s one of the world’s most well-connected cities. The home of GMT, it’s ideally positioned for dealing concurrently with operations in North America (see below), Europe and Asia, with fast direct links through London Heathrow (LHR), one of the busiest airports in the world. The infrastructure is excellent – we recently launched a new multicurrency payments service through the British banking giant Revolut. And, most important of all, London is a globally-renowned centre of medical excellence.

GMT+1: Amsterdam and Frankfurt

Within continental Europe, EMS also has two separate bases in the Netherlands and Germany. Amsterdam is where we started life as a company. Our office sits right alongside Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), so we can charter and launch air ambulance flights at extremely short notice. It’s also home to the EMS road ambulance fleet (with additional vehicles on standby in Barcelona and Venice). Our Frankfurt office, meanwhile, sits within easy range of eastern Europe, with access to some of Germany’s best private hospitals and consultants.

GMT+4: Dubai and the Middle East

Dubai, UAE, is our main presence in the Middle East. It has easy access to some of the region’s most respected hospitals but acts as a hub for transferring local patients on to specialist clinics and hospitals in Europe and America too. Dubai is also home to our Global Operations Office, the 24/7 hub where a team of highly-trained operations staff and experienced doctors handle the logistics for many of our repatriation missions across the world (you can read more about how they work in this recent article: Meet the “Ops” – the people who make our medical transports tick).

GMT-5: New York and North America

EMS also has an office near New York City. As with our other international hubs, it has medical personnel, medication and equipment on standby to provide patients with 24/7 air ambulance repatriations and medical escorts, available at short notice. The New York office can serve destinations across the USA and Canada, and of course much further afield if needed.

From London… to the world!

Launching an HQ in London isn’t just an exciting move for EMS. It’s all part of our drive to build an even faster, better-connected service for our growing customer base across the world, says EMS Air Ambulance & Medical Repatriation CEO Gerrit Vrieze:
