COVID-19
The EMS team is here to help you organize medical repatriation for you or your loved ones in case of a medical emergency abroad. Initial treatment is often carried out in the concerning country but for further treatment most of the patients want to go home as soon as possible. We organize medical repatriation from anywhere in the world. We arrange transport from the hospital in the foreign country to the nearest airport. Once on board our team will make sure they have everything they need for the journey to keep the patient comfortable and safe. We take care of everything; the patient can concentrate on getting well again.
METHODS OF MEDICAL REPATRIATION
Road Ambulance
Road ambulances are one of the safest, most convenient and comfortable ways for a patient to travel. Depending on your situation, it may be possible for the patient to complete the entire journey by road ambulance. We are able to take patients over long distances by road, and our state-of-the-art vacuum mattresses can keep patients comfortable even over thousands of kilometres.
Because we have our own fleet, we can often arrange for a same-day departure. We send the best doctors, paramedics and nurses for the journey, with the right specialisms for your situation.
Commercial flight
If the patient is stable enough and is able to sit- or lie down, a commercial flight is often the appropriate way to initiate the medical transport. In some cases, a stretcher is needed, the stretcher will be installed in the cabin separated from other passengers. Our medical team who travels alongside you will take care of your needs.
Air Ambulance or private jet
In case of a medical emergency in a foreign country, medical repatriation by air ambulance or private jet is the most direct and convenient way of returning home safe for vital treatment. In essence, an air ambulance is a private aeroplane or helicopter that has been specially modified to enable emergency medical care for a patient while in transit. Each plane or helicopter comes fully supplied with equipment and medicines. On board we use equipment that is similar to the machines in an intensive care ward. This allows us to repatriate the patient quick and safe.
